Schedule Changes

Schedule Changes: The last day for any changes to a student schedule is Tuesday, Sept. 8th. There is a $30 charge for all changes which must be approved by the teacher, counselor, and administration. Due to class sizes, graduation requirements, etc., not all requested changes can be made. The $30 fee for any students who still owe for schedule changes is due Friday, Sept. 11th.

8th Grade Shadow Visits

Do you know of an 8th grader who might be interested in attending Regina High School? Please spread the word that 8th graders are invited to spend the day at school shadowing a 9th grade student. Since many area junior high schools don’t reconvene until after Labor Day, the week of Aug. 31st would be a great time to visit! Parents should contact Mrs. Hlywa (khlywa@reginahs.com; x 222) to set up a shadow day.

Freshman Dad/Daughter Party

Freshman Dad/Daughter Welcome Party: The RHS Dads Club invites all freshmen and their dads or a significant male father figures to attend the annual Welcome Party on Sunday, Aug. 30th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. It’s a great way for freshmen to meet their new classmates for food, dancing, or games, and to spend some quality time with dad. Invitations were mailed to the home and RSVPs are due to the Front Office by Tuesday, Aug. 25th.

Update on Summer Facility Improvements

Update on Summer Facility Improvements: Have you noticed how beautiful the building façade looks? The cement work is finished and the final touches to the landscaping project will be made within the coming weeks. Unforeseen delays have caused repairs to the gym floor to take longer than anticipated, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility as workers move as quickly as possible while meeting all safety standards and our expectations for a quality product.

Personal Technology Policy Reminder

Every student is required to bring an internet-accessible technology device to class daily. Acceptable devices include tablets, laptops, and internet-accessible e-readers. CELL PHONES and iPods are not permitted. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in the locker from 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m. Please do not contact your daughter via cell phone during the day and expect her to respond. Checking for texts and emails, even from parents, throughout the day violates our technology policy.

Edline Activation

We ask that both parents and students set up individual Edline accounts. A copy of the activation codes were sent home on orientation days with students for whom one or both activation codes were not initially used. Teachers update Edline every Friday and this is a very important means of communication between school and home.

Signed Office Forms

All students received the annual letter describing pesticide application at RHS. Please read the letter. If you need notification of application, please return the bottom half of the letter to the school office. In addition, please return the following signed items to the Front Office by Monday, Aug.

2015-16 School Year Calendar

The 15-16 school year calendar of scheduled activities has been updated on Edline. The calendar is considered tentative since new activities are continually added and circumstances sometimes require changes to those events already planned. Check the calendar regularly to keep track of modifications. Changes to the published calendar will usually be made via the Friday news briefs.

Parking Lot Flow

Drivers should NOT stop or stand at the first set of doors (Chapel/Gym) on the east side of the building because this causes traffic back-ups and a dangerous situation for people crossing into the parking lot. Please pull into the enclave along the gym and drive up to the bus before stopping. Also, the front circular drive is never used for dropping off or picking up students and cars should never stand or stop on the sidewalks.
