Mothers Guild Meeting

Mothers Guild Meeting: As a Regina mom, you are already a member of the Regina Mothers Guild! Please attend the next meeting, a fall celebration to welcome all moms, on Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. There will be light refreshments and time to socialize and meet your fellow moms. We hope you can join us!

College Financial Aid Night

College Financial Aid Night: The Regina Guidance Office is sponsoring a College Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, Nov. 18th for our junior and senior parents. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theater and covers topics including the FAFSA and paying for college. FAFSA forms for students in the Class of 2017 can be filed as early as October of 2016, so junior parents may want to get a head start by attending the program.

First Semester Christian Service Hours

First Semester Christian Service Hours: Since semester exams have been scheduled before Christmas vacation, the timeline for submission of semester one Christian Service hours is earlier than in past years. All CCS hours (5 for freshmen; 15 for sophomores and juniors; and 10 for seniors) are due on Thursday, Nov. 12th. The CCS reflection essay is due on Thursday, Nov. 19th. Students have been reminded that CCS obligations must be completed by the deadline in order to retain exam exemption eligibility.

Junior Ring Ceremony Reminder

Junior Ring Ceremony Reminder: The Class of 2016 Junior Ring Ceremony is Sunday, Oct. 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Students need to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. and should wear a nice dress or skirt, nude or skin-tone nylons, and dark shoes with their blue robes. If an emergency occurs and a student cannot attend, please call the school and leave a message on the answering machine.

Testing Day

Testing Day: Wednesday, Oct. 14th is Testing Day for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students take the following pre-SAT tests: 9 – PSAT 8/9; 10 – PSAT 10; and 11- PSAT/NMSQT. School begins at 7:50 a.m. in homeroom. There is no need for backpacks and ALL cell phones should be left at home, in the car, or in the locker. Students need to bring a calculator, #2 pencils, water, snacks, and a watch (highly recommended).

Hair Raising Experience

A Hair-Raising Experience: Student Council has decided to go all out in supporting cancer patients during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The entire school community is invited to participate in the first ever RHS Hair Drive from Friday, Oct. 9th through Friday, Oct. 30th. There are three different ways to join the fun: 1) donate hair at a local salon and show Mrs. Craft the before and after picture; 2) donate hair by making an “appointment” with an on-site stylist for a dry cut on Wednesday, Oct. 21st between 1:00-4:00 p.m.

AP Biology Weekend

AP Biology Weekend: Students in AP Biology class travel to Camp Ozanam in Carsonville (7303 Walker Rd., MI 48419) on Friday, Oct. 9th for a weekend of ecological experiments and presentations. RHS biologists-in-training perform three labs before returning home on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 11th. We pray for a safe journey, great weather, and lots of fun!

Sweepstakes Raffle Launch

On Wednesday, Oct. 7th, your daughter received an envelope containing ten RHS 2016 Sweepstakes raffle ticket booklets and a letter explaining this year’s fundraiser. The 2016 raffle features 30 cash prizes totaling $15,000 including a chance at $5,000! Drawings take place from January through June. The Sweepstakes raffle is the one mandatory fundraising activity in which all Regina families are expected to participate. The first collection date is Wednesday, Oct.

St. Sharbel Relics on View

St. Sharbel Relics on View: The relics of St. Sharbel Makhlouf, known as the “Miraculous Healer,” will be at St. Matthias Catholic Church (19 Mile/West of Schoenherr, Sterling Heights) to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the canonization of St. Sharbel. The church will be open daily from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. from Friday, Oct. 9th through Sunday, Oct. 11th for prayers and devotion, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the relics, confessions, and the Divine Liturgy. ALL are invited to attend.

Junior Ring Ceremony

Junior Ring Ceremony: Members of the Class of 2017 and their families are invited to the Junior Ring Ceremony and Brunch on Sunday, Oct. 18th. Mass begins in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. and is followed by brunch in the cafeteria. Invitations were mailed to the home and RSVPs are due back to the office by Friday, Oct. 9th.

 

Teens, INC

Teens I.N.C. Laces ‘Em Up: Teens I.N.C. is selling Laces for Life during lunches on Thursday, Oct. 8th. For $2, students can purchase a set of baby blue and pink pro-life shoelaces. Part of the profit goes to Warren Lifespan.
